Anthropic is upgrading Cowork with a plugin system that packs in skills, connectors, slash commands, and even sub-agents. Basically, it gives non-developers the same “extend it however you want” vibe that Claude Code users already know.
Cowork only launched about two weeks ago, and it’s essentially Anthropic’s Claude Code style tool for knowledge workers who don’t want to touch code, but still want an agent that can help create or tidy up docs, organize files, and summarize a ton of local documents.
To make plugins easier to jump into, Anthropic released 11 open-source plugins on GitHub on Friday, covering a range of use cases and demonstrating what this new feature can do.
In practical terms, take the sales plugin. It includes a connector that integrates Claude with your CRM and knowledge base, plus slash commands to kick off prospect research or wrap up call follow-ups.
Cowork’s team basically says this is what lets Claude act like a “cross-functional expert.”
In this tutorial, we will explore a couple of Cowork plugins, especially those related to sales and marketing. These plugins help us research prospects and prepare deals, draft content, and plan campaigns.
By the end of this tutorial, you’ll be able to:
