Claude is not coming slowly. It improves almost every week. A year ago, few people expected it to become such an indispensable tool for serious work. Back then, it was mostly seen as a chatbot with stronger writing skills than many other AI tools. Within months, however, Claude evolved into one of the most effective work assistants. Tools like Claude Code and Artifacts introduced powerful ways to build, test, and ship things directly inside the chat, saving both time and money while actually getting work done. And Claude hasn’t slowed down. It keeps releasing new capabilities designed to make people’s work easier and more efficient.
The idea is simple: while Claude is explaining something, it can now generate small visual elements to help you understand what it’s talking about. Instead of just describing a concept in text, it can show it with a diagram or visual right inside the conversation. According to Anthropic, this feature is now rolling out in beta to all Claude users across every plan.
These visuals appear directly in the chat as part of the conversation. They are meant to be temporary and can evolve as the discussion continues. In other words, they change with the flow of the chat. Anthropic also makes it clear that these are not the same as regular Artifacts. They are not saved documents, and they will not show up in the Artifacts panel inside the Claude app.
This tutorial shows you how to access and interact with Claude to create diagrams. Claude can build flowcharts, system diagrams, attention viz, and a live calculator. It can also build interactive explainers (step-through animations), architecture diagrams, ERDs, and more. We will show you the exact prompts you can use to draw interactive diagrams and receive explanations for each step without leaving the Claude chat.
By the end of this tutorial, you’ll be able to:
Prompt a flow chart
Create a system diagram
Create an attention viz
Generate an Entity Relationship Diagram
Download the files or save them as an artifact
