Running my clients' brand voice on a local LLM, on a 16 GB MacBook

I use Claude for brand strategy work and built a web app around a playful format I use with clients. Now it runs on a local model, too.

Brand identity and brand strategy projects: I use Claude Code for brainstorming, reasoning and creative writing. Using Claude, I have designed a web app that harnesses the brand personality and voice that emerge from a playful format I use with my clients.

I'm also using Osaurus to test some small language models on my MacBook Pro, which is an M1 with just 16 GB of RAM. Blimey, the price of RAM has gone up!

I've successfully managed to use a local LLM run by Osaurus with my web application, so it writes in the brand voice I'd set up within the application itself. I'm also using Osaurus to provide models to AnythingLLM, for a really simple version of a "second brain" on my Mac.

Next, I'll install Hermes Agent for some background tasks and overnight jobs, using a model provided by Osaurus.

What changed

Time saved, better organised projects, and I've tried things I'd never have tried without AI.
