Is Pictory worth it in 2026?
Pictory sells a monthly allowance of video minutes, so the price per minute is the number that decides it. Here are the plan prices, what the 14-day trial allows, and the limits the pricing page leaves out.
The quick answer
Pictory is worth paying for if you publish video every week from scripts, articles or slides. Professional costs $35 a month billed annually and includes 600 video minutes a month, the lowest price per minute on the plan list. Starter at $25 a month billed annually covers 200 minutes and costs the most per minute. The catch is what the pages leave out: the trial gives 15 minutes over 14 days, the pricing page says nothing about watermarks on most plans, and the terms do not expressly grant commercial rights for the output. InVideo AI is the strongest alternative if you would rather buy credits per seat than minutes per account.

Step-by-step tutorials for Pictory, Claude, Midjourney and many other tools, plus member deals valued at $3M+. 7-day free trial on the annual plan.
Pictory turns a script, an article URL, a PowerPoint deck or existing footage into an edited video with a voice-over. Most buyers ask two questions: what a finished video costs on each plan, and what they can test before paying. Pictory sets each plan's price against a monthly allowance of video minutes, so the allowance decides what a video costs you.

- ✓Clear minute allowances per plan, with ElevenLabs voice minutes included on every paid plan.
- ✓A 14-day trial that is enough to test one real project before you pay.
- ✓Professional and Team raise the file size to 5 GB and the edit limit to 180 minutes, against 1 GB and 60 minutes on Starter.
- ✓Starter is the only plan the pricing page marks No watermark, and it is the cheapest paid plan.
The trade-offs
- ✕Watermark rules for the trial, Professional and Team are not stated on the pricing page.
- ✕No plan publishes a maximum export resolution. The only figure is 1080p, in a marketing line.
- ✕The terms do not expressly grant commercial-use rights for generated output.
- ✕Starter costs the most per minute: about $0.125 a minute on annual billing, against $0.058 on Professional.
- ✕Team is quoted for three or more users, and the page does not say whether its price rises per user.
Worth it if…
- →A creator who turns scripts or articles into videos every week and needs a monthly minute pool to plan around.
- →A buyer whose work needs longer edits or bigger files than Starter allows, which points to Professional.
- →A small team that wants a shared workspace for assets and is willing to pay for it.
- →A buyer who wants built-in ElevenLabs voice-overs and does not want to buy a voice tool separately.
Skip it if…
- →Anyone who needs a clean download for client work on the trial, since the page does not state the watermark rule.
- →Buyers who need a stated commercial-use promise for generated output before they sell or run ads.
- →Teams of ten or more, which the page routes to Enterprise, a custom quote with no published price.
- →Occasional creators who make a few short videos a quarter, for whom the $300 annual Starter plan is more than the work needs.
What each plan costs, and what annual billing saves
Pictory has three paid plans and an Enterprise tier quoted as custom. Starter costs $29 a month billed monthly and $25 a month billed annually. Professional costs $59 a month billed monthly, with the annual rate in the table. Team costs $199 a month billed monthly and is listed for three or more users.
Annual billing saves $48 a year on Starter, $288 on Professional and $960 on Team. That is worth taking only once you know the plan will stay in use, because annual billing means paying for the whole year before you have tested the output. Monthly billing costs more, but it gives you a month to leave if the videos do not earn their keep.
Minutes decide the value: cost per video minute
Divide each price by its allowance and the plans separate clearly. On annual billing, Starter works out to about $0.125 per video minute, Professional to about $0.058 and Team to about $0.066. Billed monthly, the same plans come to about $0.145, $0.098 and $0.111 a minute. Starter is the most expensive plan per minute on both billing terms, so it only makes sense if 200 minutes a month covers the work and you do not need bigger files or longer edits.
Professional is the plan most paying buyers should look at first. Its 600 minutes a month is three times Starter's allowance, and it lifts the file size limit to 5 GB and the edit limit to 180 minutes. Per minute, it is also the cheapest plan on the page.
The pricing page does not define how a minute is counted per render, so the allowance on paper may not match the finished video you export. Test one real project on the trial before you commit to a year of any plan.
Team pricing: one shared workspace or three accounts
Team is listed for three or more users, with a shared workspace for assets and projects, 1,800 minutes a month and 10 brand kits. Three Professional accounts on annual billing cost $1,260 a year and hold 21,600 minutes between them, so Team costs $168 a year more for the shared workspace and the larger limits. That $168 pays for collaboration on one account, not for extra minutes.
The pricing page does not say whether Team's price rises with each user, so a group of five or more should ask Pictory before assuming the $1,428 annual figure holds. The page does not say that separate Professional accounts share assets, so treat them as separate.
The free trial: 14 days and 15 minutes
The trial gives 15 video minutes over 14 days. Generated videos are capped at 5 minutes and files at 1 GB, so the trial covers three 5-minute videos at most. Pictory's home page says you can get started without a credit card.
Use the trial on your real input. A long explainer hits the 5-minute generation cap quickly, so a trial built on short clips will not show how the paid plans handle long-form work. If your videos run longer than that cap, the trial cannot test them, so check the paid plans' generation limit in the table before you judge the plan.
Watermarks, export and commercial use: what the pages leave open
Starter is the one plan the pricing page marks No watermark. It says nothing about watermarks on the trial, Professional or Team, so do not plan a client delivery on those plans until you have exported a file yourself. The only resolution the page names is 1080p, in a line about resizing for social platforms. No plan lists a maximum export resolution.
Commercial use is the stricter question. Pictory's terms say it claims no ownership of your content. They also bar using third-party material on its own, for personal or commercial purposes, and they put responsibility on you for content that infringes other people's rights. The terms do not expressly grant commercial-use rights for generated output, so read them against your plan before you sell a video or run it in paid ads.
Pictory against InVideo AI, the closest alternative
Both tools turn text into video, which is why buyers compare them. The unit is where they differ. Pictory publishes a minute allowance per account, plus voice minutes from ElevenLabs and brand kits on each paid plan. InVideo AI sells credits per seat, so a buyer has to convert credits into finished videos before the price means anything. Our InVideo AI review works through that conversion.
Pick Pictory if you want a minute count you can plan around and a voice-over included. Pick InVideo if your team needs seats and a credit pool that fits how often you render. This page does not list InVideo's plan prices beside Pictory's, because our InVideo review carries those figures.
Academy data: where Pictory sits in our library
Academy data: as of 10 October 2026 we have written 11 reviews of AI video tools, and none is for Pictory. The video-visual collection lists seven tools and Pictory is not among them, and no tutorial path is built around it. No other page on the site prices Pictory's allowance, so this review is the place to check it.
The verdict
For a creator who publishes video every week from scripts, articles or slides, Pictory is worth it on Professional. Its allowance gives the lowest price per minute on the plan list, and the 5 GB file limit and 180-minute edit limit cover more long-form work than Starter does. Starter is the cheap entry point for light use, and it costs the most per minute. Team is worth its premium only when several people need one workspace.
Settle two things before paying. Run one real video on the 14-day trial, since that is the only way to see how a minute is counted in practice. Then read the terms against your use: the pricing page leaves out watermark rules for most plans, and the terms do not expressly grant commercial rights for the output. If the terms rule out your work, the price stops mattering.
Better alternatives?
If it is not the right fit, these are worth a look.
InVideo AI
Text-to-video with credits per seat rather than a minute allowance per account. Our InVideo AI review has its plan figures.
Descript
Edits a recording or a video you already have, which suits an editor more than a script-to-video buyer.
OpusClip
Cuts a long video you already have into short clips, so it fits repurposing rather than writing a video from a script.
ElevenLabs
Pictory uses ElevenLabs voices. If you only need narration, buying the voice tool directly keeps the video cost out of it.
