Is Plus AI worth it in 2026?
What Basic, Pro, Team and Max cost, how the switch from unlimited to credits changes the math, and how many decks $10 a month covers.
The quick answer
Plus AI is worth $10 a month (billed annually) for students and consultants who build decks in Google Slides or PowerPoint and want AI there, not in a separate editor. Basic now comes with 1,500 credits a month, and a typical task uses 40 to 170, so heavy users get roughly 8 full generations a month. Monthly billing is $15. There is no free plan, the 7-day trial needs a card and charges automatically, and Plus does not refund subscriptions.
Short answer: Plus AI is worth $10 a month for presentations if you live in Google Slides or PowerPoint, but the deal changed in spring 2026. The April 10, 2026 pricing page promised Basic “Unlimited AI generation”; by May 14, 2026 the same $10 plan came with 1,500 AI credits a month.
Plus AI is an add-on, not a separate presentation app. It runs as a Google Slides add-on and a PowerPoint add-in, generates a deck from a prompt or an uploaded document, inserts single slides in a chosen layout, and rewrites or remixes existing slides. The output stays as native, editable slides in the file you already share with a teacher, client or manager. That is the whole case for paying for it over a standalone tool.

What you get
- ✓Works inside your file: Google Slides and PowerPoint are both included, with native editable slides.
- ✓Low entry price: $10 a month billed annually, unchanged since at least February 2024.
- ✓Enough for most students: 1,500 credits cover about 8 full generations a month at the top of the range.
- ✓Pro adds real tools: document-to-deck uploads, AI images and an MCP connector for ChatGPT and Claude.
- ✓SOC 2 Type II: a stated security certification for work use.
The trade-offs
- ✕Unlimited is gone: Basic dropped from unlimited generation to 1,500 credits in spring 2026 at the same price.
- ✕No free plan: the 7-day trial needs a card and charges automatically.
- ✕No refunds: subscription payments are final.
- ✕Whole-org billing: you cannot upgrade only some users in an organization.
- ✕Document uploads cost more: turning a PDF or brief into a deck needs Pro at $20.
Worth it if…
- →Students who present often and want AI drafts inside Google Slides or PowerPoint.
- →Consultants who turn client documents into first-draft decks and need native .pptx output, on Pro.
- →Small teams that must keep brand colors, fonts and logo consistent, on Team.
Skip it if…
- →You make a deck once a month or less; a general chatbot and a template cost nothing.
- →You want to try it without entering a card.
- →You prefer designing in a dedicated presentation editor.
- →You expected the unlimited generation older reviews describe.
How has Plus AI’s price changed?
The dollar prices have held since at least early 2024; what you get for them has not. In the February 23, 2024 snapshot (the product then lived at plusdocs.com), Basic was $10 a month billed annually or $15 monthly, Pro $20 or $25, and there was a Free plan that generated 3 presentations. By the May 16, 2025 snapshot, the Free plan was gone, a Team plan had appeared at $30 or $40, and Basic promised unlimited AI generation.
The next change came between the April 10 and May 14, 2026 snapshots: unlimited became 1,500 credits on Basic, 3,000 on Pro and 6,000 on Team, and a Max plan with unlimited credits appeared at $200 a month billed annually or $240 monthly. Same prices, smaller allowance. Plus’s own plans and billing guide still says Basic “unlocks unlimited AI generation,” so the vendor’s pages differ; the pricing page carries the credit numbers.
How many decks does $10 a month cover?
Plus says a typical task uses 40 to 170 credits, depending on complexity. Credits belong to each user and reset on the billing date. Plus’s guide says that once the monthly limit is reached you cannot use the AI agent until it resets, so the way to get more mid-month is a higher plan.
Student scenario: if generating a full deck sits at the top of that range, 1,500 credits cover about 8 decks a month on Basic; if your tasks are mostly small rewrites at 40 credits, about 37 (our arithmetic). A student with a presentation or two a week fits comfortably. Billed annually that is $120 a year; for one heavy month before a thesis defence or final presentations, a single month at $15 costs less.
Consultant scenario: a consultant who generates a draft deck from a client document needs Pro, because document uploads start there. At $20 a month billed annually, 3,000 credits cover about 17 full generations at 170 credits each, or roughly $1.18 per generated deck (our arithmetic). A five-person team on Pro pays $1,200 a year billed annually, or $1,500 on monthly billing. Note that paid plans upgrade the whole organization: Plus’s guide says you cannot upgrade individual users in an organization.
Team earns its extra $10 a user only if brand colors, fonts and logo must be applied automatically. Max at $200 a month only makes sense for someone running the AI agent all day.
What do users say about Plus AI?
The largest public rating sample is its Google Workspace Marketplace listing: 4.6 stars from 905 reviews and more than 1 million users as of October 29, 2026, with the listing updated October 2, 2026. Google notes that it does not verify those reviews, and most predate the switch to credits, so they speak to the add-on’s quality more than to today’s allowance.
The practical check is your own usage. Plus shows credit consumption in the account settings, so spend the 1,000 trial credits on one real deck, note what a full generation costs, and divide your plan’s allowance by that number before the trial converts.
The trial, refunds and data
There is no free plan any more. New customers get a 7-day trial of any paid plan with 1,000 credits, but it needs a card and charges automatically when the 7 days end. Unused trial credits do not roll over, and anyone who has used Plus before is not eligible for a new trial.
Plus does not refund subscription payments. Its terms of service call payments “final and non-refundable,” and its guide warns “make sure you remember to cancel.” Uninstalling the add-on does not cancel the subscription; cancel in the billing portal or from the add-on’s billing menu. Downgrades are credited against future payments rather than refunded.
On data, Plus says it holds SOC 2 Type II compliance and encrypts data in transit and at rest. A consultant putting client documents into Pro should still check the client’s rules first.
Plus AI or a separate presentation tool?
The real comparison is where the deck lives. Beautiful.ai Pro is $14.50 a month billed annually or $45 for a single month, and includes unlimited AI content generation, but you design in its own editor and export to PowerPoint. Gamma also uses its own editor; check its current price on Gamma’s site. Plus AI is cheaper at $10 and keeps everything in the Slides or PowerPoint file your school or client already uses.
Pick Plus if the deck must end up as a normal .pptx or Google Slides file that others edit. Pick a standalone tool if you want more design freedom and do not mind exporting.
Academy data: of the 13 presentation, slide and pitch-deck prompt packs in our library, none names Plus AI. The ChatGPT Google Slides prompts (16 prompts) and Claude PowerPoint prompts (16 prompts) cover outlining and wording for free in a general chatbot, which is a sensible test before paying.
The verdict
Plus AI Basic is worth $10 a month billed annually for a student or professional who builds a deck most weeks and needs it to stay a normal Google Slides or PowerPoint file; at about 8 full generations a month, that is roughly $1.25 a deck. Consultants should budget for Pro at $20, since document uploads are where the time saving is.
Skip the annual plan if you only present a few times a term, and set a reminder before the 7-day trial ends because there are no refunds. What would change this verdict: another cut to the credit allowance, or a top-up option that removes the need to jump a whole plan.
