Is Tabnine worth it in 2026?
The free plan has left the pricing page, the printed plans are annual per-user contracts, and the pricing URL now opens a Tricentis sales page.
The quick answer
Tabnine’s free plan has left its pricing page. The September 5, 2026 capture prints two per-user plans on an annual subscription, $39 and $59 per user per month, and the live pricing page now opens a Tricentis “Contact us” page. Skip it if you are a solo developer or a small team that pays by card. Consider it if you already buy Tricentis tools or need a private deployment, and get the training terms in writing first.

Tabnine’s free plan has left its pricing page. The May 9, 2024 capture printed a Basic plan as “Free for everyone” and a Pro plan at $12 per user per month. The September 5, 2026 capture prints two per-user plans on an annual subscription, Code Assistant and Agentic Platform, and the live pricing page now opens a Tricentis “Contact us” page that offers to “Talk with a sales expert.”
Tabnine is a code completion and chat assistant for VS Code, JetBrains and other IDEs, and its December 2025 and 2026 cards promise “Works in all major IDEs.” The buying question has changed: it is now whether you will sign an annual per-user contract with a vendor that Tricentis owns, and whether its privacy terms hold for your code.
Academy data: Of the 1,777 prompt packs in our library as of October 25, 2026, none is named for Tabnine, and two slugs contain the word “coding”: Claude prompts for coding and ChatGPT prompts for coding.

What you get
- ✓Private deployment is on the menu. The 2025 Enterprise card offers “Fully private deployment on SaaS or self-hosted,” including an air-gapped option.
- ✓The no-training line is explicit. The December 2025, April 2026 and September 2026 captures print “No storage, no training on your code, no sharing with third parties.”
- ✓Broad IDE support. The 2024 capture lists VS Code, IntelliJ, Visual Studio and Eclipse among its supported IDEs, and the December 2025 and 2026 cards say “Works in all major IDEs.”
- ✓Named compliance standards. The December 2025 and 2026 cards cite “Meets GDPR, SOC 2, ISO 27001, and more.”
The trade-offs
- ✕No self-serve plan on the pricing page. The live page offers “Talk with a sales expert” and no prices.
- ✕Annual terms and a usage meter. Both 2026 plans bill as an annual subscription, and Tabnine-provided model access adds metered charges.
- ✕Weak public reviews. Trustpilot shows a TrustScore of 2.1 from 10 reviews, with 70% at one star.
- ✕The free tier is gone from the printed plans. The Basic plan that printed as “Free for everyone” in 2024 is not printed on the December 3, 2025 or September 5, 2026 captures.
Worth it if…
- →Teams that already buy Tricentis testing tools and want one vendor for code assistance and test work.
- →Security teams that need a private or self-hosted deployment and will sign an annual contract after a quote.
- →Buyers who will get the no-training and fine-tuning terms into writing before a pilot.
Skip it if…
- →Solo developers and small teams that pay by card, because the 2026 cards offer “Get a quote” and no checkout.
- →Anyone who wants the 2024 and 2025 free individual tier, which is not printed on the December 2025 or September 2026 captures.
- →Buyers who need monthly billing, because both 2026 plans print an annual subscription.
How has Tabnine’s price changed?
The January 8, 2024 capture prints Basic, Pro and Enterprise cards with no figures in the card text, but its page data lists team prices of $15 a month and $144 a year. The May 9, 2024 capture is the first with printed figures: Basic as “Free for everyone,” Pro at $12 per user per month with a 90-day trial, and Enterprise with a one-year commitment.
By the July 14, 2025 capture, the printed cards were Basic, Dev and Enterprise. The Dev card reads “9 per month” with 30 days free and no per-user label, while Enterprise still printed a per-user price, so the drop from $12 to $9 is not like for like. The same capture says “No credit card is required to register for Tabnine or to use the Basic plan.”
The December 3, 2025 capture prints one card, The Tabnine Agentic Platform at $59 per user per month on an annual subscription, with no Basic, Dev or Pro card. The September 5, 2026 capture prints two cards on the same annual terms, Code Assistant and Agentic Platform. It also carries the banner “Tabnine has been acquired by Tricentis, the global leader in agentic quality engineering.” The April 11, 2026 capture prints the same two cards and no Tricentis text.
The 2024 and 2025 cards print a billing term only for Enterprise, while the 2026 cards print “Annual subscription” on both plans. The Enterprise price that stayed level from 2024 to 2025 and the 2026 Code Assistant price are the same number on cards with different names, descriptions and terms.
What does Tabnine promise on code privacy and training?
The December 3, 2025, April 11, 2026 and September 5, 2026 captures each print the heading “Zero code retention and total privacy” over the line “No storage, no training on your code, no sharing with third parties.”
The July 14, 2025 Enterprise card says “Fully private and customized models fine tuned on your codebase,” alongside “Fully private deployment on SaaS or self-hosted.” That capture does not print the no-training line, and the later captures do not print the fine-tuning clause, so the captures never show the two statements together. Ask the vendor to confirm both in writing.
The May 9, 2024 capture said Tabnine “won’t do anything with your code or user data.” That wording is broader, covering anything done with your data, while the 2026 wording names training and third parties specifically.
What do users say about Tabnine?
Trustpilot’s listing for tabnine.com shows 10 reviews, a TrustScore of 2.1 and 70% of reviews at one star, as of October 25, 2026. Toolradar lists Tabnine at 4.2 of 5 from 72 reviews across G2, as of September 4, 2026, and shows its entry price as “Free plan available” with pricing dated October 4, 2026, which does not match the vendor captures.
Two 2026 reviews, dated March 1 and June 27, 2026, say Tabnine moved toward enterprise customers and left earlier users behind.
Support and billing come up too. On August 7, 2025, a reviewer wrote “I cannot and do not recommend the use of their VSCode AI extension.” On April 26, 2025, another wrote that “they have charged me after the trial.” A review dated October 3, 2025 says the assistant loses track of code it was given earlier in the conversation.
A 2022 review, dated September 14, 2022, reads “This is a very powerful service that helps me save a lot of my time.”
What would ten developers pay?
Ten seats at the printed $39 come to $390 a month, or $4,680 a year on the annual subscription. Ten seats of Agentic Platform at $59 come to $590 a month, or $7,080 a year. Both figures exclude model usage: the footnote on the December 2025, April 2026 and September 2026 captures says “Add payment for reserved token consumption quota when using Tabnine provided LLM access,” based on actual LLM provider prices + 5% handling fee.
GitHub’s plans page lists Copilot Business at $19 per user per month, or $190 a month for ten seats. Tabnine’s figures are annual subscriptions, while the Copilot line is printed per user per month, so get the billing term in writing from each vendor before you compare totals.
The verdict
Skip Tabnine if you are paying for yourself or for a few seats. The free plan is no longer printed, the remaining plans are per-user annual subscriptions, and the pricing page sends buyers to sales. Trustpilot’s 2.1 score from 10 reviews points the same way, though ten reviews is a small sample, and the two 2026 reviews describe a move toward enterprise buyers.
Pay for it if you already run Tricentis tools or need a private deployment. Ask for a quote, then put the no-training wording and the fine-tuning clause from the 2025 Enterprise card side by side in the contract. On list prices, Copilot Business at $19 per user per month is about half the printed Code Assistant price, though Tabnine bills annually and Copilot bills per user per month, so Copilot is the simpler buy unless private deployment is a requirement.

Frequently asked questions
Does Tabnine still have a free plan?▾
Not on its pricing page in the captures from December 3, 2025 and September 5, 2026. The May 9, 2024 capture printed Basic as “Free for everyone,” and the July 14, 2025 capture said no credit card is required for the Basic plan. The live pricing page now opens a Tricentis contact page.
How much does Tabnine cost per month in 2026?▾
The September 5, 2026 capture prints Code Assistant at $39 per user per month and Agentic Platform at $59 per user per month, both on an annual subscription. Ten seats of Code Assistant come to $390 a month before any model usage charges.
Does Tabnine train its models on customer code?▾
The December 2025, April 2026 and September 2026 captures print “No storage, no training on your code, no sharing with third parties.” The 2025 Enterprise card also promises “Fully private and customized models fine tuned on your codebase,” so ask in writing how those two clauses fit together.
How does Tabnine compare with GitHub Copilot on price?▾
GitHub’s plans page lists Copilot Pro at $10 a month and Business at $19 per user per month. Tabnine’s 2026 cards also price per user on annual subscriptions, but they send buyers to a quote rather than printing a checkout. Copilot is the simpler purchase unless you need private deployment.
Is Tabnine worth it for a 10-developer company?▾
Probably not as a self-serve purchase, because the 2026 cards offer a quote rather than a checkout. Ten seats on the printed Code Assistant plan come to $4,680 a year before model usage charges. Get a quote only if you need private deployment or already use Tricentis tools, and get the training terms in writing.
