Is Visme worth it in 2026?
Visme’s own prices for Basic, Starter and Pro on yearly and monthly billing, what the free plan caps, which plans the terms allow for client work, which plan downloads PowerPoint, and what a team of 3 or 5 pays, read 20 October 2026.
The quick answer
Visme Starter costs $12.25 a month per person billed yearly ($147 a year) and Pro, which the pricing cards call Business, costs $24.75 a month billed yearly ($297 a year), as read on Visme’s pricing page on 20 October 2026. Visme’s terms limit Basic and Starter to personal use, so client or commercial work needs Pro, which adds PPTX, HTML5, MP4 and GIF to Starter’s JPG, PNG and PDF downloads, plus Brand Kit and privacy settings. Visme’s pricing and limits pages give the free Basic plan no downloads, but its home page FAQ says free users get JPG, PNG and PDF with a watermark. Billed monthly, Starter costs $29 and Pro $59, so yearly billing costs less from the sixth payment. The catches: no refund for cancelling early once a payment is taken, and Visme’s pages disagree on a few limits.

Picture a freelancer who makes four decks or infographics a month on Visme’s free plan. The first client who asks for a PowerPoint file runs into two walls: Visme’s pricing and limits pages give Basic no download formats, and Visme’s terms limit Basic and Starter to personal use, so client work needs Pro or Enterprise. The real question is which plan covers that work, and whether a year of it costs more than the work is worth. The prices below were read on Visme’s pricing page on 20 October 2026, where the yearly toggle is the default view.
Limits, refund terms and storage come from Visme’s limits and formats page, its terms of service, its cancellation guide and its subscription guide. Academy data: Visme is the sixth of the presentation, design and diagram tools we name here, after Canva Pro, Gamma, Beautiful.ai, Napkin AI and Framer, and our Claude infographics pack holds 60 prompts, counted on 20 October 2026. We have no Visme prompt pack, so every Visme figure here comes from Visme.

What you get
- ✓A free plan that publishes: Basic costs $0, needs no credit card, and allows 50 slides or pages per project.
- ✓Downloads in a paid plan: JPG, PNG and PDF come with Starter, billed yearly or monthly, for personal use.
- ✓Pro lists the full export set: PPTX, HTML5, MP4 and GIF, plus Brand Kit and privacy settings, and its terms cover commercial use.
- ✓Team prices are published for 3 and 5 people, and Visme quotes 6 or more.
- ✓Education prices are listed: $48 a year for students and $96 for educators, both billed annually.
The trade-offs
- ✕Basic has no downloads on Visme’s pricing and limits pages, though its home page FAQ says JPG, PNG and PDF with a watermark.
- ✕Basic and Starter are personal use only under section 8.2(a) of the terms, so client or commercial work needs Pro.
- ✕Monthly billing costs about 2.4 times the yearly rate per month (computed): $29 against $12.25 on Starter.
- ✕No refund for early cancellation once a payment is taken, and a cancellation needs a click in the confirmation email.
- ✕Visme’s pages disagree on free-plan downloads, Pro storage, PowerPoint on Starter and the plan name.
Worth it if…
- →You make decks or infographics for personal projects and want JPG, PNG or PDF files, which Visme lists from Starter.
- →You do client or commercial work, which the terms place on Pro and Enterprise, or a client wants a PowerPoint, HTML5 or MP4 file, which Visme’s table lists on Pro and above.
- →You work in a team of 3 or 5 and want one Brand Kit, with team prices published.
- →You are a student or teacher with an .edu address and can use the $48 or $96 yearly plans.
Skip it if…
- →You do client or commercial work and plan to buy Basic or Starter. Section 8.2(a) of Visme’s terms limits both to personal use.
- →You only publish links online and never export a file. Basic may be enough, with 500 MB and 50 slides or pages per project.
- →You would pay month to month for more than five months. The yearly price costs less from the sixth payment.
- →You want a refund if the tool disappoints. Visme’s terms give none for early cancellation once a payment is taken.
- →You need one low price for a whole team. Starter has no team price and its terms limit it to personal use.
What does Visme’s free plan cap?
Basic costs $0 and, per Visme’s pricing FAQ, needs no credit card to sign up. It gives unlimited projects, 500 MB of storage, 50 slides or pages per project and 10 AI credits a month. Section 8.2(a) of Visme’s terms permits Basic “solely for personal use”. AI Designer costs 2 credits a generation, so the allowance covers 5 generations (computed), and AI text-to-image on Basic is marked low resolution.
The wall is downloads, on Visme’s pricing and limits pages. The plan table crosses out Download Formats for Basic, and the limits page lists the formats allowed on Basic as “Not Allowed”, while Visme’s home page FAQ says free users can download JPG, PNG and PDF with a watermark (see the disagreements below). Public projects are ticked, so you can still publish and share online, but the Visme logo stays on your projects. Premium assets and templates are crossed out, charts and data widgets are marked Limited, forms are not included, the recording studio stops at 3 minutes against 45 on paid plans, and uploads of images, SVG and PDF files are capped at 10 MB while video uploads are not allowed.
What do Starter and Pro each add?
Starter is the personal-use plan that lets files leave Visme. Section 8.2(a) of Visme’s terms says Basic and Starter are for personal use only and that “Commercial use is not included in the Basic or Starter Plans”. Starter adds premium assets and templates, removal of the Visme logo, unlimited slides per project, 1 GB of storage, 200 AI credits a month and downloads as JPG, PNG and PDF. Forms start here, with 1,000 responses a month and 3 integrations. What Starter leaves out is the brand and control layer: the table crosses out Brand Kit, privacy settings, analytics and the Collaboration summary row for Starter, although it does tick comments and live editing.
Pro is the plan whose terms cover client and commercial work. Section 8.2(b) permits Pro and Enterprise for both personal and commercial use. Its card lists downloads as PPTX, HTML5, video and GIF, Brand Kit, analytics and most integrations, and the table adds privacy settings with password protection, a slide library, 500 AI credits a month and 5,000 form responses a month with 10 integrations. The pricing page shows team prices on the Pro card only, covered below.
Enterprise has no list price. Visme quotes it from 10 users with 25 GB per user, and adds a custom sub-domain, single sign-on, 2FA, project approvals, SCORM and xAPI export and a dedicated customer success manager.
Which Visme plan downloads PPTX, HTML5, video and GIF?
Pro and Enterprise do. Visme’s cards say Pro adds “Download as PPTX, HTML5, Video & GIF” on top of Starter, and both Download Formats rows list JPG, PNG and PDF for Starter against all seven formats for Pro.
PowerPoint on Starter is the unclear case. The cards, both format rows and the limits page give Starter JPG, PNG and PDF only, yet one row of the same table, Export to PowerPoint, shows Starter as “Limited (Not editable)”. Treat editable PPTX as a Pro feature, and ask Visme before you buy Starter for a PowerPoint workflow.
Is Visme cheaper billed yearly than monthly?
Yes, from the sixth payment. Visme’s toggle says yearly saves 50%, but the listed prices are further apart: twelve monthly Starter payments are $348 against $147 yearly, which is 58% less, and twelve Pro payments are $708 against $297 (all computed). Five monthly payments ($145 on Starter, $295 on Pro) still cost slightly less than the yearly price, and six payments reach $174 and $354. Monthly billing suits a project that ends within five months, and yearly suits anyone staying longer.
A freelancer making four decks or infographics a month for clients, 48 a year, falls under Pro on the terms: that is $6.19 a deck billed yearly and $14.75 billed monthly (computed). Starter, which the terms limit to personal projects, would be $3.06 a deck billed yearly and $7.25 billed monthly. The step from Starter to Pro adds $150 a year on yearly billing or $30 a month on monthly billing. If a single client’s PowerPoint request is why you need Pro, one month at $59 costs less than a year of either yearly plan, provided you cancel before the next charge.
What does Visme cost for a team of 3 or 5?
Team prices sit on the Pro card as a slider with 1x, 3x, 5x and 6+ positions. A Pro team of 3 is $864 a year or $119 a month, and a team of 5 is $1,440 a year or $159 a month. Three separate Pro seats would cost $891 a year or $177 a month, and five would cost $1,485 or $295 (computed). The team price therefore saves $27 and $45 a year on yearly billing, about 3%, and $58 and $136 a month on monthly billing, so the discount matters mainly if you pay monthly.
On yearly billing each person costs $288 a year at both 3 and 5 seats. Teams of 6 or more get a quote and Enterprise starts at 10 users. Starter lists one licence and no team price, and its personal-use terms rule it out as a way to cover a team’s work.
Student, Educator and nonprofit pricing
Student is $48 a year and Educator is $96 a year, both billed annually only, and Visme asks for an academic .edu email. If your institution has no .edu address, Visme tells you to contact support. Student downloads JPG, PNG and PDF plus a non-editable PPTX, and Educator adds GIF, video, HTML5 and editable PPTX, projects without the Visme logo and privacy controls. Section 8.2(c) of Visme’s terms limits education plans to personal and educational use, not commercial purposes.
Nonprofits can apply for a 25% discount on the business plan, which is the Pro plan here. Visme’s FAQ says to contact support for it, and the page publishes no discounted dollar price. Visme’s pages give different storage figures for Student and Educator, so none is quoted here.
Refunds, cancelling and what happens to your projects
Visme does not refund early cancellation once a payment is taken. Section 15.2 of its terms says no refund is issued for early termination after the card or PayPal account is charged or auto-renewed, with an exception if Visme ends the service without cause and room for refunds at Visme’s own discretion in other cases, and section 15.1 says there are no partial refunds or pro-ration, except that a mid-cycle upgrade to a different plan may be pro-rated. Yearly plans are paid upfront and monthly plans are charged each month until you cancel, and a cancellation only counts once you click the link in the confirmation email.
When the paid period ends, the account drops to Basic. Until then you keep premium access. After that, Visme’s guide says downloading is no longer available, published or embedded projects show a “Made with VISME” watermark, and an account inactive for over a year may lose access to its projects and be subject to deletion. Visme suggests downloading your projects before you cancel.
Where Visme’s own pages disagree
Visme’s pages do not always match each other, so confirm these at checkout.
The plan name. The pricing cards call the $24.75 plan Business, while Visme’s limits page and its other help pages call it Pro. This page uses Pro.
Storage. The pricing table lists 10 GB for Pro and 25 GB per user for Enterprise. The limits page lists 5 GB for new Pro plans and a larger figure for old ones, and Visme’s storage help page lists 5 GB for Pro and 10 to 25 GB per user for Enterprise, so confirm the storage before you pay.
Free-plan downloads. Visme’s home page FAQ says the free plan adds a Visme watermark and limits downloads to JPG, PNG and PDF. The pricing table, the limits page and the cancellation guide give Basic no downloads. This page follows the pricing and limits pages, so confirm before you buy.
PowerPoint. The pricing page puts PPTX on Pro, while the limits page leaves PPTX out of the Pro format list, and Starter’s Export to PowerPoint row conflicts with its format rows. PowerPoint import on Basic is capped at 10 slides on the pricing table and 25 slides on the limits page.
Visme against Canva, Gamma and Beautiful.ai
This page quotes no competitor price, so compare each vendor on its own pricing page. Our reviews cover the alternatives: Canva Pro for general design work, Gamma and Beautiful.ai for AI-built decks, and Napkin AI for diagrams. Whichever you compare, check what the free plan lets you export, because Visme’s pricing and limits pages give its Basic plan no downloads.
Where the Academy fits
Draft the content before you open Visme. The Claude infographics prompts help you structure numbers and sections for an infographic, and writing copy in an assistant you already use spends none of Basic’s 10 monthly AI credits. The Gamma prompts are written for Gamma, so treat them as slide outlines if you build the deck in Visme.
The verdict
Visme is worth paying for when you need files out of it, and the right plan depends on who the work is for. Starter suits personal projects in JPG, PNG or PDF, because Visme’s terms limit Basic and Starter to personal use. Pro is the plan whose terms cover client or commercial work, and it adds PowerPoint, HTML5 and video downloads, Brand Kit and privacy settings. Pay monthly only for a short project, since the yearly price costs less from the sixth payment.
The caveats are plain. Visme’s pages disagree on whether the free plan can download, and on Pro storage and PowerPoint for Starter, and its terms refund no early cancellation, so confirm those before you pay. If you mainly need AI-built decks or diagrams, read the alternatives below first.
