Is Fliki worth it in 2026?

What Free, Standard and Premium cost, how the switch from minutes to credits changes the math, and how many narrated lessons a plan really covers.

By AI Academy editorial team·Published November 5, 2026

The quick answer

Fliki is worth it for course creators, teachers and faceless channels who turn scripts into narrated videos built on stock footage: Standard is $28 billed monthly or $21 a month billed yearly, and its 180 monthly credits cover roughly 27 ten-minute stock-footage lessons. It is poor value if you lean on AI avatars or AI video clips, which burn credits per second, and Fliki does not refund paid plans. Pictory and Lumen5 are the closest alternatives.

Short answer: Fliki is worth it for faceless and explainer videos if most of your footage is stock and the voice does the work. Standard has listed at $28 a month billed monthly or $21 a month billed yearly in every pricing snapshot from May 2023 to October 2025, and the Fliki FAQ still quotes $28. What changed is the unit: plans are now sold in credits, not minutes.

Fliki turns an idea, a script, a blog URL or a PowerPoint deck into a narrated video with stock visuals, subtitles and music, using a library of AI voices in 80+ languages. For a teacher with lecture notes or a creator with a backlog of blog posts, that is the whole pitch: paste text, pick a voice, export. The buying question is how far a plan’s credits stretch for your kind of video.

What you get

  • ✓Stable list price: Standard has listed at $28 monthly and $21 yearly since at least May 2023.
  • ✓Cheap for stock-footage narration: a 10-minute lesson costs about 6.5 credits, so Standard covers roughly 27 a month.
  • ✓Strong voice library: 1,000 voices on Standard, voice cloning and 80+ languages.
  • ✓Many inputs: idea, script, blog URL or PowerPoint to video.
  • ✓Usable free tier: 3 credits a month with no card, enough to judge the voices.

The trade-offs

  • ✕No refunds: the FAQ says paid plans are not refunded.
  • ✕Credits are hard to predict: re-edits and re-exports charge again, a complaint users repeat.
  • ✕Avatars burn credits: 15 credits per avatar minute can drain Standard in one lesson.
  • ✕Free plan is tiny now: 3 credits, 720p and a watermark, down from 5 minutes in earlier years.
  • ✕Per-seat pricing: each team member adds the full plan price.

Worth it if…

  • →A course creator or teacher turning written lessons into narrated stock-footage videos every month.
  • →A faceless YouTube or social channel that needs many voiceover videos in several languages.
  • →A blogger repurposing articles into video with the Blog to video workflow.

Skip it if…

  • →You need an on-screen presenter for most of your video; avatar credits add up fast.
  • →You make one or two videos a year; the free plan or a single month is enough.
  • →You want a refund safety net before committing to a year.
  • →Your videos depend on generated AI footage rather than stock media.

How has Fliki’s price changed?

The dollar figures have barely moved. The May 17, 2023 snapshot lists Standard at $28 a month or $21 billed yearly and Premium at $88 or $66, with a 25% yearly discount. The August 9, 2024 and October 15, 2025 snapshots print the same four prices.

Three things did change. First, the 2023 page had a Basic audio-only plan at $8 a month or $6 billed yearly, with 120 minutes of audio; it is gone from the 2024 and later pricing pages, although the FAQ still mentions Basic for older accounts. Second, the allowance unit: in 2023 to 2025 Standard came with 180 minutes a month (2,160 minutes a year) and Free with 5 minutes. By the September 7, 2026 snapshot, the same plans list 2,160 credits a year and Free gets 3 credits a month. Third, Premium’s longest export grew from 30 minutes in 2024 to 40 minutes in 2025.

Today the pricing page also runs a Halloween banner: code FLIKIHALLOWEEN40 takes 40% off annual plans, putting Standard at $201.60 a year. Budget on the list price: the code is a limited-time offer, and Fliki’s terms let it revise subscription prices with notice.

How far do 180 credits go for a narrated lesson?

Credits are charged per action, not per finished minute. Fliki’s credit guide (updated October 20, 2026) lists the rates: starting a Script to video or Idea to video run costs 0.5 credits, a minute of AI voiceover costs 0.25, 0.5, 1 or 2 credits depending on the voice’s color band, and exporting costs 0.1 credits per minute. Stock and uploaded media cost nothing.

A 10-minute lesson on stock footage with a green-band voice: 0.5 to start, 5 for the voice and 1 for the export, so 6.5 credits (our arithmetic). Standard’s 180 credits cover about 27 such lessons a month, and Premium’s 600 cover about 92. A 20-lesson mini course of ten-minute videos needs about 130 credits, which fits in one month of Standard at $28 if you get each script right first time.

That last condition matters. Editing voiceover text in a scene regenerates that scene’s audio and charges again, and re-exporting after a typo pays the export again. The pricing page’s own estimator assumes 0.5 credits a minute for stock footage, so treat 27 lessons as a ceiling, not a promise.

Avatars and AI clips change everything. A stock avatar costs 0.25 credits per second, which is 15 credits a minute. Ten minutes of avatar on screen would use 150 of Standard’s 180 credits. AI video clips cost 0.1 to 6 credits per second depending on the model. If your lessons need a presenter on camera, price Premium or an avatar tool instead.

What do users say about Fliki?

Independent ratings are small samples. The Fliki iOS app averages 4.9 out of 5 from 16 ratings on the US App Store as of October 29, 2026. Techjockey shows 4.1 out of 5 from 14 reviews, and one verified reviewer wrote in June 2024 that “The credit system is very confusing.”

The credit complaint repeats. FlowShorts, which sells a competing short-video app, published a Fliki review on April 13, 2026 saying “AI visual artifacts and a confusing credit system are real problems,” while praising the voice quality and ease of use. A Geekflare review from June 2025 lists the watermark and length limits on the free plan as its main cons. The pattern across sources: the voices and the script-to-video flow are the strength; credit accounting and AI visuals are the friction.

Refunds, teams and the fine print

Fliki does not refund paid plans. Its FAQ says that “once you have subscribed to the paid plans we can not issue a refund,” and the terms leave any refund to the company’s discretion. Use the free plan to judge the voices before paying, and start on monthly billing rather than a year up front.

Pricing is per user. The FAQ’s own example: Standard with two extra team members costs $28 + $28 + $28 = $84 a month, and the credit pool grows with each seat. Nonprofits and educational institutes can ask support for a 15% discount, which matters for a school department buying several seats.

If you run out mid-month, top-up credits are sold only to active subscribers and stay valid for 180 days, but they do not unlock plan features. Renewing early to refill credits forfeits whatever was left. Standard also caps channel publishing at 50 a month and 5 a day, and annual plans measure usage caps across the whole year.

One inconsistency to know: the pricing page FAQ still describes Standard as “180 minutes of credits” and Premium exports as up to 30 minutes, while the plan table above it lists credits and 40 minutes. Go by the plan table and the credit guide.

How does it compare in dollars?

Pictory Starter is $25 a month billed annually or $29 billed monthly, with up to 30 video minutes a month. Fliki Standard at $21 yearly is cheaper, and on stock-footage lessons its 180 credits stretch well past 30 finished minutes (our arithmetic above). Lumen5 Basic is $19 a month billed yearly and suits branded social clips more than narrated long-form lessons.

Where Fliki wins is voice: 1,000 voices on Standard, cloning of your own voice, and translation into 80+ languages. A teacher who wants the same lesson in English and Spanish gets more from Fliki than from a template-first editor.

Academy data: of the 8 video-focused prompt packs in our library, none names Fliki. The Claude video script prompts (30 prompts) and faceless YouTube prompts (16 prompts) help write the script you would paste into it.

The verdict

Fliki Standard is worth $21 a month billed yearly, or $28 month to month, for anyone producing narrated stock-footage videos on a schedule: about 6.5 credits per ten-minute lesson leaves room for roughly 27 lessons a month. Start monthly, because there are no refunds, and switch to yearly once you know your credit burn.

Skip it, or look at avatar-first tools, if a talking presenter is central to your videos; at 15 credits a minute, avatars turn Standard into a few videos a month. What would change this verdict: a cut to the credit rates for voice or export, or a list price change after more than three years at $28.
