Is Picsart Pro worth it in 2026?
What Pro and Ultra cost in dollars, how the yearly price rose 50% since 2025, what each plan’s AI credits buy, and when Canva, Adobe Express or Pixelcut is the better fit.
The quick answer
Picsart Pro is worth it for phone-first creators and students who edit photos daily and generate some AI images or short clips. Pro costs $15 billed monthly or $126 a year, with 500 AI credits a month. The yearly price rose from $84 in 2025. Ultra starts at $47 a month and only pays off for heavy video generation, since Pro is cheaper per credit than most Ultra tiers. Template-led designers should look at Canva Pro instead.
Short answer: yes for a daily mobile editor, no for an occasional one. Picsart Pro’s yearly price went from $84 in mid-2025 to $126, per dated archive snapshots of Picsart’s pricing page, while the monthly price stayed at $15. For $126 a year you get the full editing toolkit plus 500 AI credits a month, about 100 Nano Banana Pro images.
The lineup changed too. The cheaper Plus plan is gone, and a credit-based Ultra tier now sits above Pro at $47 to $250 a month. Below are the two plans in dollars, the cost per credit, the price history, what users and an independent reviewer report, and how Picsart compares with the tools students and creators weigh it against.
Picsart Pro vs Ultra, US prices as of October 29, 2026
Ultra is priced per seat and sold in credit tiers; 5,000 credits cost $145 a month or $1,390 a year, 10,000 cost $250 or $2,400. Cost per credit is our arithmetic on yearly billing.

What does Picsart Pro cost in 2026?
As of October 29, 2026, the Picsart pricing page lists Pro at $15 billed monthly or $126 billed yearly, shown as $10.50 a month. Twelve monthly payments come to $180, so yearly billing saves $54, the figure Picsart prints. Pro includes 500 credits a month for generative AI, every photo and video editing feature, background and object removal, a one-tap enhancer, premium templates, Getty video clips, bulk editing of up to 50 images and 100 GB of cloud storage.
Credits are the part to watch. Per Picsart’s credits FAQ, a yearly plan still delivers credits once a month, not all at once, and unused subscription credits do not carry over. Costs depend on the model: a Nano Banana 2 image at 4K uses 5 credits, so Pro covers about 100 of them; a 4-second Veo 3.1 clip at 1080p uses 48 credits, so Pro covers about 10. Image generation with Flex.2 Klein does not draw on credits at all, since Pro lists it as unlimited.
A free account still exists. The subscriptions help article gives free users 100 MB of storage against Pro’s 100 GB, and paid features such as premium content stay locked.
Is Ultra worth the jump from Pro?
Ultra is a credit ladder, not one plan. Per seat, it costs $47 a month for 1,500 credits ($450 billed yearly), $75 for 2,500 ($720 yearly), $145 for 5,000 ($1,390 yearly) and $250 for 10,000 ($2,400 yearly), plus a 10,000+ option. The extras over Pro: 200+ AI video, image and audio models, longer clips such as 30-second Seedance 2.5 videos at 1080p, add-on credits that never expire, 300 GB of storage per seat, bulk edits of 100 images and team seats.
Our arithmetic shows Ultra does not buy cheaper credits. On yearly billing, Pro works out to 2.1 cents a credit, Ultra 1,500 to 2.5 cents and Ultra 2,500 to 2.4 cents. Only the 10,000-credit tier matches Pro at 2.0 cents. Ultra makes sense when you run out of Pro’s 500 credits every month or need the longer, higher-resolution video models, not as a value upgrade.
Until November 2, 2026, Picsart runs a limited-time offer of 50% off Seedance 2.5 generations for an Ultra subscriber’s first seven days. Plan around the list prices above, not the promotion. One more limit: the plan guide says Ultra can only be bought on the website, while Pro is also sold in the iOS and Android apps, where billing options can differ by app store and country.
How has Picsart’s price changed?
Dated snapshots of the pricing page show three changes. Pro’s yearly price was $84 ($7 a month) in the June 6, 2024 snapshot and the June 15, 2025 snapshot. By the January 7, 2026 snapshot the yearly list price was $126, shown discounted to $63, and $126 is the price on today’s page. That is a 50% rise. Pro’s monthly price of $15 is the same in the 2024, 2025 and January 2026 snapshots and on today’s page.
The Plus plan disappeared. It cost $13 a month or $60 a year in 2024 and 2025, rose to $78 a year in the January 2026 snapshot, and is absent from the August 2, 2026 snapshot and the live page, which show only Pro and Ultra. Plus offered 200 credits a month, so the cheapest paid entry point went from $60 to $126 a year.
Pro gained in return. Its storage grew from 20 GB in June 2025 to 100 GB in January 2026, while its 500 monthly credits held steady. The Ultra ladder, from $47 to $250 a month, is identical in the August 2026 snapshot and today.
What do users say about Picsart?
The Picsart iPhone app, Picsart AI Photo Editor, Video, averaged 4.66 stars from 1,196,444 ratings on the US App Store as of October 29, 2026. That score covers the free app as much as the subscription. On G2, Picsart holds 4.5 out of 5 from 795 reviews, per Toolradar’s aggregate as of September 17, 2026.
Style Factory (updated February 25, 2026) calls Picsart “a capable, accessible and affordable design platform that works really well for image-led creative tasks” and names AI generation its biggest strength. Its criticisms: typography is limited, “its template range is relatively small”, and support response times “can be a bit slow.”
Billing is the other recurring theme. Picsart’s terms of use state that “All payments are nonrefundable” for web purchases and that partial periods are not credited, and its cancellation guide advises cancelling 24 to 48 hours before renewal. Deleting the app does not cancel the plan. App store purchases must be cancelled and refunded through Apple or Google.
Picsart vs Canva Pro, Adobe Express and Pixelcut
For phone-first creators the real rivals are Canva Pro, Adobe Express and Pixelcut. Adobe Express Premium is $9.99 a month with no annual commitment, 250 generative credits, 100 GB of storage and a 30-day free trial, so a year costs $119.88. Pixelcut Pro is $10 billed monthly or $8 a month billed yearly ($96 a year by our arithmetic) with 600 AI credits, plus unlimited background removal and upscaling.
Canva Pro is the usual comparison for students and social media managers; check the current price on Canva’s site, and see our Canva Pro review. Canva leads on templates and collaboration, which is where Style Factory finds Picsart thin. Picsart’s edge is photo retouching and access to many AI image and video models from one credit balance.
Academy data: none of the prompt packs in our library names Picsart, but three cover photo editing, including AI photo editing prompts and ChatGPT photo editing prompts. They help you describe an edit; they do not replace Picsart’s retouching tools.
What a year costs a student or creator
Our arithmetic at US list prices, before tax. A student who edits for a nine-month school year pays $135 on monthly Pro, more than the $126 yearly plan; monthly billing only wins for eight months or less ($120). A creator who generates about five 4-second Veo clips at 1080p and 40 4K images a month uses 440 credits, inside Pro’s 500 for $126 a year.
A creator producing 50 four-second 1080p clips a month needs about 2,400 credits, which means Ultra 2,500 at $720 a year, or $900 on monthly billing. Between those cases, buying Pro and occasional add-on credits on the website is worth pricing before you commit to an Ultra tier.
The verdict
Picsart Pro is worth $126 a year if you edit photos most days and want AI generation on the side: 500 monthly credits, the full editor and 100 GB of storage, at the lowest cost per credit in the lineup. It is a weaker deal than in 2025, when the same plan was $84 and Plus cost $60.
Skip Ultra unless Pro’s credits run out every month; it adds models and volume, not savings. Pick Canva Pro for templates and team design, Adobe Express at $9.99 a month if you want monthly billing with a 30-day trial, or Pixelcut at $96 a year for background removal and upscaling. If Picsart brings back a lower-priced tier, the answer for light users changes.
