Is Zapier worth it in 2026?
Plan prices by task tier, the tasks a three-step Zap really uses, what the Free plan blocks, and what a solo user or a three-person team pays, from Zapier’s own pages.
The quick answer
Zapier Professional starts at $19.99 a month billed yearly for 750 tasks ($29.99 billed monthly), read on Zapier’s pricing page on 19 October 2026, and it is worth paying for once a Zap needs a second action. Zapier bills tasks, not Zaps: a trigger is free and each successful standard action is one task, so a Zap with a trigger and two actions uses 2 tasks per run. The Free plan has 100 tasks and only two-step Zaps. Team, for shared Zaps, starts at $69.00 a month billed yearly for 2,000 tasks. The catch is the next Professional tier, 1,500 tasks at $39.00 a month billed yearly, and n8n is the alternative to check for long workflows.

Zapier is worth paying for when a Zap needs more than a trigger and one action, and not before. The real bill is tasks: successful actions per run times runs per month, not the number of Zaps you build.

The trade-offs
- ✕Free cannot run a three-step Zap: two-step Zaps only, no premium apps or webhooks.
- ✕The first tier jump is steep: 750 to 1,500 tasks adds $19.01 a month billed yearly.
- ✕AI steps multiply tasks: 3 on an advanced model, 5 on a premium one.
- ✕Overage is on by default for accounts created after January 2024, at a rate the pricing page omits.
- ✕Professional has 1 seat: sharing Zaps means Team, $20.00 a month more at 2,000 tasks billed yearly.
Worth it if…
- →You build Zaps with two or more actions, or need premium apps or webhooks.
- →You build and own the automations alone, so one Professional seat is enough.
- →You are a small team sharing Zaps and app connections, and can pay for Team.
Skip it if…
- →You need one two-app move at low volume. The Free plan covers it.
- →Your workflows are long and high volume. n8n counts one execution per full run.
- →You cannot forecast runs per month and want a fixed bill. Overage billing is on by default for newer accounts.
How much does Zapier cost in 2026?
Each paid price depends on a monthly task tier and a billing toggle. The page opens on Pay yearly (Save 33%), so the Professional and Team card prices are yearly rates shown per month, and the cards do not say “billed annually”. At 750 tasks, Professional is $239.88 a year billed yearly, against $359.88 over twelve months billed monthly (our arithmetic).
Billed yearly, Professional costs $19.99 a month at 750 tasks, $39.00 at 1,500, $49.00 at 2,000, $89.00 at 5,000 and $129.00 at 10,000. Billed monthly, those tiers cost $29.99, $58.50, $73.50, $133.50 and $193.50. Team starts at 2,000 tasks: $69.00 billed yearly, $103.50 billed monthly.
The steepest percentage step is the first: 750 to 1,500 tasks adds $19.01 a month billed yearly, nearly doubling the bill, though bigger tiers do cost less per task. New accounts get a free 14-day Professional trial with no credit card, and non-profits get 15% off paid plans, pay-per-task charges excluded.
What counts as a task?
A task is a successful action. Zapier’s help center says triggers never use tasks, polling is free, and failed actions do not count. Its example, a Gmail trigger followed by a Dropbox upload and a Slack message, uses 2 tasks per run, so ten runs use 20.
Filter, Paths, Formatter, Delay, Looping, Tables and Forms steps use no tasks, and steps skipped by an earlier filter do not count, so on a paid plan an early Filter can stop later steps from counting. AI by Zapier uses 1 task per step on a standard model, 3 on an advanced model and 5 on a premium one, and a Zapier MCP tool call uses 2.
Zapier’s task usage rates page lists a standard step as “trigger and action steps” at 1 task per step, but the pricing FAQ and the help center say triggers never count, which is the rule used here.
What does a three-step Zap really cost?
A three-step Zap, a trigger and two standard actions, uses 2 tasks per run. Totals are our arithmetic.
A solo user at 300 runs a month needs 600 tasks, which fits the 750-task Professional tier: $239.88 a year billed yearly or $359.88 billed monthly. Free cannot run it, since it allows two-step Zaps and 100 tasks.
At 400 runs the need is 800 tasks, 50 over the tier. The next tier, 1,500 tasks, is $468 a year billed yearly or $702 billed monthly. Or stay put and, if pay-per-task billing is on, pay its higher rate for the extra 50 tasks, a rate shown in your billing settings and not on the pricing page.
A three-person team sharing Zaps at 750 runs a month needs 1,500 tasks. Professional has one seat, so it moves to Team, whose smallest tier is 2,000 tasks: $828 a year billed yearly or $1,242 billed monthly. At 2,000 tasks Team costs $20.00 a month more than Professional billed yearly ($49.00) and $30.00 more billed monthly ($73.50).
Swap one action for an AI step, keep the other action and run it 200 times a month: a standard model makes 2 tasks a run (400 tasks), an advanced model 4 (800), a premium model 6 (1,200).
Is there a free Zapier plan?
Yes. Free gives 100 tasks a month, unlimited Zaps, and two-step Zaps (one trigger, one action) that check for new data every 15 minutes. Zapier’s feature table marks premium apps, webhooks, Filters, Paths, Formatter, autoreplay and email or live chat support as paid-plan features. Free fits one simple move between two apps at low volume, such as a form entry becoming a spreadsheet row.
Professional or Team: which does a small team need?
Professional has 1 seat. Team includes 25 users, shared Zaps and folders, shared app connections, SAML SSO and priority support, and checks for new data every minute. If one person builds every Zap, Professional is enough. If several people edit the same Zaps or would share logins, the Team premium of $20.00 a month at 2,000 tasks billed yearly buys shared connections. Live chat starts at Professional’s 2,000-task tier.
What happens when you hit the task limit?
Pay-per-task billing keeps Zaps running at a higher per-task rate. Zapier says it is on by default for accounts created after January 2024, that on Professional and Team the account owner switches it off, and that your billing settings show the rate; the pricing page does not. Usage stops at 3 times the plan’s limit, so a Professional 750 account tops out at 2,250 tasks. With it off, Zaps pause until the next period, and the allowance resets monthly even on a yearly plan.
Zapier vs Make vs n8n: which unit are you paying for?
Zapier counts successful actions. Make bills credits, and its pricing page says most actions use 1 credit and the Free plan includes 1,000 credits a month; check it for Make’s plan prices, which this review does not quote. n8n counts one execution per full workflow run, whatever the steps.
n8n’s cloud Starter plan is $20 a month billed annually for 2,500 executions, and Pro is $50 a month billed annually for 10,000 (US dollar view of n8n’s pricing page; the euro view shows €20 and €50). At 3,000 runs a month the three-step Zap is 6,000 Zapier tasks, the 10,000-task tier at $129.00 a month billed yearly, and 3,000 n8n executions, its Pro plan. The units differ, so this compares counting, not cost. For an agent that decides what to do, see our Lindy review.
How to size your plan
Multiply successful actions per run by runs per month for every live Zap and add them up, because one task pool serves the whole account. Pick the smallest tier above the total (counting an advanced AI step as 3 tasks and a premium one as 5) and choose the billing toggle last. Our Zapier prompt pack for Claude writes recipes that list each trigger, action and filter, and the Automation & No-Code collection has Zapier, Make and n8n tutorials.
The verdict
Zapier is worth it for a solo builder or a small team running multi-step Zaps at a few hundred to a few thousand runs a month, once you have done the sum: successful actions per run times runs per month is your task bill. Stay on Free while a Zap is one trigger and one action under 100 tasks, move to Professional the day you need a second action, and pay the Team premium only when people share Zaps.
The jump from 750 to 1,500 tasks nearly doubles the yearly-billed price, AI steps on advanced and premium models burn 3 to 5 tasks, and pay-per-task billing is on by default for newer accounts. Model one month of runs on the 14-day trial before you pay, and compare n8n if your workflows are long.
Better alternatives?
If it is not the right fit, these are worth a look.
Make
Counts credits, not tasks: most actions use 1 credit, and its Free plan includes 1,000 credits a month.
n8n
Cloud Starter is $20 a month billed annually for 2,500 workflow executions, and Pro is $50 a month billed annually for 10,000 (US dollar view; the euro view shows €20 and €50). One execution is one full run.

Frequently asked questions
Is Zapier worth it in 2026?▾
Yes, once a Zap needs more than a trigger and one action and your monthly task volume fits a tier you can name. Free suits one two-step Zap, Professional suits multi-step Zaps, and Team pays off when several people share Zaps. Zapier bills tasks, not Zaps, so count successful actions per run first.
How much does Zapier cost?▾
Prices were read on Zapier’s pricing page on 19 October 2026, in US dollars. Professional is $19.99 a month billed yearly or $29.99 billed monthly at 750 tasks, and $129.00 or $193.50 at 10,000 tasks. Team starts at 2,000 tasks for $69.00 a month billed yearly or $103.50 billed monthly. Free is $0 for 100 tasks, and Enterprise is priced on request.

What happens when you hit the Zapier task limit?▾
With pay-per-task billing on, Zaps keep running at a higher per-task rate shown in your billing settings, until usage reaches 3 times the plan’s task limit. With it off, Zaps pause until the next period. Zapier says it is on by default for accounts created after January 2024, and the allowance resets monthly even on a yearly plan.
